Seeing Red.  by Charli Mace

Look again!  The new red is making its way into the elegant formal affairs as the new black. This color is a truly rich hue.  Leave the holiday color at home.  The new red is a deep, cranberry color that even reaches to almost deep plum.

Red is such an emotional color.  Red stimulates brain activity so it increases heart rate and respiration.  It makes us feel sexy, anxious or excited. Red is even associated with many aromas; roses, apples, strawberries, raspberries, cherries and our seasonal cranberry.

It is no wonder that this wonderful color is making an entrance at more traditional black and white formal affairs. Rich red color in elegant textures exudes a warm and intimate feeling.

The holidays are always packed with places to go and people to see.  We open our houses and our hearts not only to those we hold dear, but to those who may also be in need. It makes perfect sense that the color red is part of that spirit.

We are finally learning that color adds life to our surroundings. Paint your holiday season full of excitement with this beautiful color.  May this season have you ‘Seeing Red’ in the most gracious way, after all, ‘Red is the New Black!’.

Enjoy your holiday!

Charli
