The 2005
season has many of us reflecting on the past yet looking for security and
simplicity. The color professionals at the Color Marketing Group have selected a respectful and
natural palette for the coming year.
CONSUMER GOODS
lead us back to traditional materials such as metal, leather, wood and
sand. This is a reflection of Eastern influence where colors are based on the natural elements of Earth,
Metal, Water, Wood and Fire, (Feng Shui anyone?).
*Just Steel
– displays durability and strength
*Intrigue Blue
– aquatic, yet a luxurious neutral
*Living Green
– Ying and Yang of nature, very subdued
*Fire Copper
– Earthy, reminiscent of handcrafted metals
FASHION
will
be dictated by three influences.
*Rustic
– antiqued, vintage, tea-dyed and dusky
*Urban Sheen
– layered effects, translucent and more complex
*World Spiced
– textured and refreshed basic shades
HOME COLORS
continue to soften and be more serene. Consumers are becoming more aware and connected to color, even
though many will continue to use neutrals.
*Sea Coral
– borrowed from the cosmetic industry, displays a healthy glow
*Latin Rose
– an equatorial red that is softened and neutralized.
*Twilight Shadow
– inspires spiritual reflection with its red-infused blue
*Eden
– an organic green, creates optimism and rejuvenation.
*Sheer
– a white infused yellow is clean and bright like sunlight
