A Note from Charli:

Cooler weather is signaling us that autumn is on our doorstep. The color trends from the fashion world are showing us that earthy colors are still fashionable. That is good news as it allows us to keep our wardrobes in style for a little longer than the norm.

Fall wardrobe designers are showing charcoal, slate, gray, black and red, but remember there are a myriad of hues that keep in tune with these deeper, earthier colors. If you are not a true diamond, seek out rich alternatives such as brick, deep green, or burnt sienna.

Today’s more conservative budgets mean we could all probably shop a little smarter, so here are a few ways to punch up what you already have.

  • Basic pieces should have classic lines so they can be worn for more than one season.
  • Fall colors are typically in the darker colors of your best Gemtone palette. Neutrals are always a safe option, but remember they do not have to be boring colors.
  • Punch up your style with fewer colorful trendier accessories.
  • Add a print blouse in a bold color.
  • Colorful handbags, scarves and hats are a great addition.
  • Splurge on a pair of gold or silver shoes.

If you are not sure if you look radiant or radical in the new colors, just dig into your purse or pocket and find your Gemtone Cards. What a reliable friend they are when it comes to letting you know if a color really does you justice.  If you haven't gotten your set yet, check out the Personal Deluxe Kit or maybe even just opt for a professional online color analysis .

Enjoy the read,

Fall/Autumn Makeup Trends
By Tracey Rosenblath

With summer coming to an end, it's time to stock your makeup bags for a new season. The girly bubblegum colors we saw this summer are a thing of the past.  This fall we will continue to see rich metallic colors as well as a return of deep, rich earthy tones.

Eyebrows
The days of the overly plucked super thin eyebrow are gone. This season thick eyebrows are making a strong comeback.

Eyes
While the most popular eyeshadow colors this season will be vibrant purples and plums, any color that makes you think of fall leaves or jewel tones will be right in fashion.  Think rusts, oranges, deep browns, dark greens, and reds.  Additionally, we we will continue to see deep metallic colors, as well as classic blacks and grays.  The classic smokey eye will be a popular fixture again this season.

Cheeks
Cheeks will be very accentuated this fall.  Think of 80's contouring and you'll be right on with the newest fall trends.

Lips
Tuck your lip glosses away for the season - this fall matte lipsticks will be all the rage.

Nails
Just like lips, nail color will be matte this season.  The popular nail polishes for this season will be either beautifully dark or barely there with nothing in between.  Dark purples that appear almost black will be most popular, with whites and off whites coming in at a close second.

Hair
Big hair returns this season with big bouncy waves and curls combined with mega volume.

 Top Ten Fall Beauty Trends

Get ready to experiment with color this Fall! This season, the palette is bold and dramatic-focusing on rich earth tones, smoldering grays and blacks, and even some bright purples and teals. While there's plenty of '70s and '80s nostalgia behind these hot Fall styles, modern touches make them entirely now. From the latest eyeshadow hues to the "in" lip colors, Beauty Collection has everything you need to stand out this season.

1 Eye candy

For a playful, dramatic evening look, deliciously bright purples and turquoises are the hot colors this season. Runway models are sporting thick, bold candy colors under the rims of their eyes as well as on the lids. Not feeling the raccoon look? Stick to eyelids only, but go with a bold swath of color. Don't forget a matching eyeliner, like Stila Kajal, which is available in amethyst, emerald, and sapphire.

2 Cat's Eyes

For perfect cat's eye makeup, the secret is in the eyeliner. Practice with an eyeliner pencil first, then try a liquid eyeliner like Blinc Kiss Me Eyeliner. The trick is to extend the line slightly beyond the lid with a small upward turn.

3 Smoldering Looks

Black-rimmed eyes, like those sported by Heidi Klum, are a must this season. Start with a black matte eyeshadow like Stila Smudge Pot in Black. The key is to blend it well and create soft edges. Add a touch of shimmery silver to give it a softer, less Goth look with Stript Crushed Mineral Eye Shadow in Katrina.

4 Shades of Gray

For a softer look on the smoky side, gray eyeshadow-whether silver, gunmetal, or charcoal-is a must. Try Stila Smokey Eye Palette in Sapphire for a more subdued version.

5 Bold Brows

Go easy on the tweezers this fall! The natural look sported by Jennifer Connolly and Megan Fox is a great way to bring out your eyes. For fuller, thicker brows, try Anastasia Nu Brows, a formula designed to help promote growth while conditioning and restoring existing brows.

6 Dark Lips

Sugar plums and burgundies are the lip colors this season. Be sure to choose a color that works with your complexion-deep berry hues complement darker skin tones, while lighter shades work better for fair skin. For long-lasting color that won't feather, use LipFusion Micro Injected Collagen Clear Lip Pump, designed to plump up lips and bring out lipstick's true shade.

7 Big, Retro Hair

Hairstyles this season are a blast from the past with a modern twist. Whether you go with '70s-inspired long, wavy locks like Gisele or opt for a more extreme '80s homage like the Mohawksporting Rihanna, make sure to pump up the volume with the Fekkai Full Blown Volume Collection. Be sure to try the Full Volume Conditioner, Full Volume Mousse, and Full Volume Instant Root Lifting Spray.

8 Warmer Hair Hues

Say goodbye to the bright, sun-soaked colors of summer and hello to the richer tints of autumn. Take a cue from Katherine Heigl, who recently traded her trademark blonde for auburn, featuring rich cinnamon and chocolate hues. Go with warm, natural lowlights-honeyhued for blondes; burgundy for brunettes. Use Fekkai Salon Color which comes with a brush and a bowl for an easy at-home salon quality experience. Then lock in your color with Fekkai's Technician Color Care 3-minute Mask.

9 Contoured Cheeks

For sculpted cheekbones like Keira Knightley, the secret is in the shading. Try using three colors, such as Senna Radiance Face Trio, to highlight the cheekbones. Apply a darker color along the cheekbones, use a lighter shade for the apple of your cheeks, then finish off with a light powder.

10 Matte Makeup

So long, shimmer! In cooler seasons, it's all about matte for a flawless look. Available in ten different shades, Stript Crushed Mineral Foundation offers perfect coverage without clogging pores. The mineral based foundation absorbs excess oils while protecting the skin from harmful UV rays-who could ask for anything more?

...What color are your sales?

Play for Pink – everyone knows that October is the month for Breast Cancer charities.

Orange and Black are here for Halloweeen.

Red and Green are the traditional colors for the Christmas holidays.

Color is a powerful sales tool. Color evokes emotion and that is one of the first requirements for your customer to ‘buy now’. What color are you using as your sales tool?

It does not matter whether you are selling products or services, you must keep these 3 guidelines in mind when you are trying to get your ‘sales message’ across.

1 – Polish your professional presence. Simply put, wear colors that enhance YOUR unique coloration so that you have a radiance that exudes a pulled together and pleasing appearance. Keep your wardrobe style consistent with your industry. When you are dressed in colors that make YOU look good, you automatically feel better and carry an air of confidence in your presentation.

2- Keep your sales materials simple but effective. Do not use too many colors in your literature, packaging or presentation. Repetition of 2 or 3 colors MAX is enough to catch your buyer’s attention without overwhelming them with ‘too much going on’. Use your main business color to attract the attention of your ‘target audience’. Remember, every color has a psychological reaction by those looking at it.

3- Be consistent and grateful. Color goes a long way when you are presenting your own brand. Golden arches and purple pills immediately identify specific brand products. Use the same philosophy when presenting your materials. If you are touting others products that you do not have color control over, then consider the packaging or service that you provide. Simply wrapping that purchase or gift in a consistent color tissue paper is enough to make your customer remember you. Happy customers often bring referrals, express your gratitude.

ColorTools is proud to provide great service, pink bags or magenta envelopes for customer purchases and a smile with every customer encounter. Pink is not a unique color for our target market, but we do it with a smile, lots of energy and a sincere thank you. We are consistent with our message, helping YOU to look your best, save time, and save money. We are happy to ‘teach’ someone to make simple changes to enhance themselves. In our business arena, we consistently teach other business owners and executives how to use color to enrich their lives and businesses. Our proven theories and products have grown to serve consultants in over 34 countries!
